As we say goodbye to 2024, we're filled with gratitude for all the incredible experiences we shared together. This year, we hosted 33 amazing events, from fishing adventures to the second annual Yeehaw Half Marathon, and fun holiday workshops.

We hosted a Wreath Making Workshop in Squamish on December 6th at the Grateful Gift Shop! It was a wonderful evening filled with creativity and holiday fun.
Participants had the opportunity to craft their own unique wreaths. From seasoned crafters to first-timers, everyone enjoyed this hands-on experience.

An evening led by @maddyclerk @fieldguidefinance learning practical financial skills! Whether folks were a creative, a business owner or wanting to start a business, new or experienced, this workshop offered valuable insights and advice.
We created custom clay ornaments to decorate our trees and houses. The workshops was led by Nicole of Fernly Ceramics. During the workshop folks could design anything they liked by hand building or using shapers.
We went on a guided, easy-walking tour through the forest floor and along the ocean shore and learned about the ancient traditions of foraging— perfect for food lovers and hikers. We identified different BC coastal wild foods such as: mushroom species, edible plants and trees, berries and seaweeds and shellfish while soaking in the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Our second annual Yeehaw Half is our unsanctioned half marathon (21.1km) with a focus on fun and community. Everyone who signed up received a 12-week training plan and whether folks planned to run, walk, jog, or gallop—this race was all about cheering each other on and having a great time.
We went out on a boat birdwatching tour led by Special Bird Service. We scanned the water for Common Murres, searched the rocky shorelines for Surfbirds and Black Turnstones, and spotted Heermann’s Gulls visiting from Baja California. This was a fantastic chance to see seabirds in action while enjoying the stunning coastal views.
Then, on Sunday we took a peaceful, guided bird walk along Tofino’s beaches and through the coastal forests. We sipped coffee from @tofinocoffeeroastingcompany and it was a perfect way to enjoy nature and connect with fellow bird lovers.
We hosted a series of unforgettable fishing adventures in the stunning waters of Tofino, sponsored by Xtratuf. Our groups experienced the thrill of reeling in Chinook and Coho Salmon, learned new skills, and connected with amazing women. Our guided tours, provided by expert local guides, ensured a safe and enjoyable experience for all skill levels. We enjoyed delicious food and refreshing drinks from local businesses as we unwound and celebrated our catches.
We explored the Wild Side Trail on Flores Island, starting in the village of Ahousaht. This 11km trail is beginner-friendly, with minimal elevation gain and some rooty, muddy sections. We began with a boat ride from Tofino at noon on August 30th and returned the evening of August 31st.
Together we headed out for a Guided Forest Therapy Walk! We discovered natural freedom and reconnected with ourselves and our surroundings on a guided forest therapy walk with @jessssleb of @embodied__living . We learned grounding techniques, enjoyed tea and snacks by @kikanco.co, and found balance in the midst of a busy life. Sponsored by Plant of Life.
In June we had an evening in Vancouver skating the seawall and celebrated the launch of our custom board with Landyachts. Then on August 8th we partnered with @hotgirlskate for this meet up at our favourite Sunset Beach location in Vancouver!
We spent the morning at Cox Bay Beach to learn, connect, and improve our surfing skills. After surfing, we enjoyed a relaxing sauna session and a delicious lunch. This event was perfect for those ready to take their skills to the next level in a fun and supportive environment. Led by Lydia of Goofy Club.
We headed out with @taylormichaelburk for a Howe Sound & English Bay sunset sailing excursion onboard one of British Columbia’s oldest working ships, Providence. Folks brought their cameras and captured the sea to sky from a unique perspective!
Our first TAKE A SKATE meet up of 2024 on June 14th celebrated the launch of our own skateboard in collaboration with @landyachtz, with 40 participants braving the rain, energizing the event, and enjoying eco-friendly deodorants from @myhumanessentials, and refreshments from @tofinobrewco, @drinkocaso, and @nonny.beer.
We went to Whistler for an unforgettable fly fishing adventure!This event was led by @purdyfly_ & @whistlerfishingguides, who taught us the basics of fly fishing on a beautiful lake with all gear provided. We created new memories, caught trout, and gained the skills to confidently fish on our own.
We dove into the essentials of running a small business during this workshop. We learnt about the best accounting software, payment systems, and tips for managing receipts. We covered how to handle your monthly accounting, watch your cash flow, and keep your finances in check.
On June 15, attendees at West Coast Seeds and Urban Bee Supplies Apiary in Ladner, BC, enjoyed hive observations, honey tasting, and beeswax candle rolling. Hosted by Julia Common and Rho Thygesen, the event also included learning about native pollinators and receiving pollinator-friendly seeds.
Our Guided Remote Kayaking Tour on May 25th was a great success! We began with a 25-minute boat ride from @tofinoresortandmarina into Clayoquot Sound. After a safety briefing, we explored the coastline in kayaks, spotting wildlife.
We ended the adventure with a delicious lunch by @adrianas.sandwich. The event, from 8am to 1pm, was a perfect summer kickoff. Thank you to everyone who joined us!
We journeyed from Tofino Resort + Marina with @tofinooceanadventures and @chartertofino, enjoying a scenic boat tour before reaching a remote island. Partnered with @surfrider_pacificrim, we cleaned the coastline, reducing debris and protecting marine habitats.
After the cleanup, we celebrated with a communal lunch by KIKAN.
We had a wonderful Intro to Horsemanship day with @squamishriverhorseadv in the Squamish Valley. Participants learned horsemanship basics and enjoyed riding through pristine wilderness, accompanied by stunning views. @squamishriverhorseadv's majority-rescue herd roams across 50 acres of beautiful terrain in the Southern Coast Mountains.
Participants had a thrilling day in the backcountry adjacent to Whistler Blackcomb, learning avalanche rescue, terrain analysis, and skiing techniques. The event took place on March 17th from 8am to 4pm. Rentals were available at a discount, and a backcountry lift ticket option was offered for those without a valid Whistler Blackcomb lift ticket.
Our spring Herb Hangs workshop delved into ancient medicinal practices, exploring topics like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yin & Yang Theory, and the healing properties of food and herbs. Participants learned about acupuncture, the persona of food, and aligning with nature for healing. It was an enriching event that deepened understanding of natural remedies.
The February 29th Intro to Knitting Workshop at @thevalleyliving in Squamish, BC, sold out fast. Led by @tiannagrey from @mearagoods, attendees crafted scarves in vibrant wool colors sourced sustainably. They received a Natural Freedom tote bag with their project and bamboo knitting needles. Thanks to @drinkviavino for the fine wines. It was a cozy, creative evening, leaving everyone inspired.
In February, entrepreneurs and creatives in Vancouver attended a workshop led by CPA Matt Tompkins. The event covered financial literacy essentials like budgeting, bookkeeping, and funding opportunities. Attendees left equipped with practical knowledge for small business success
