NEW TAKE A SKATE DATE! Join us for an evening of skateboarding next Thursday along the seawall! We are partnering with @hotgirlskate for a meet up at our favourite Sunset Beach location.

📍 Sunset Beach, Vancouver BC - Meet by the rainbow parking lot (near the concession stand)

When: Thursday August 8th 6 - 8:30pm

All wheels, all levels welcome! Never been on a skateboard before? Come learn. Wanting to meet new friends? Come hang. Wanting to skate around with new friends? Come come come!!

We will have extra boards if you don’t have one, just reach out directly if you are needing to borrow so we can plan accordingly. Also if you have an extra skateboard and are joining let us know if you’re willing to lend to someone else.

We still have our custom boards available through @landyachtz so if you’re wanting to buy one we have discount codes to save 20% off :)

The purpose of our Take a Skate events is to create a fun and safe space for women and non-binary folks to try something new and to connect with new friends. You can make the most of this space and it’s always so special to see how many new faces we can get out!

We are THRILLED to announce an exciting collaboration with Landyachtz to bring you the exclusive Take A Skate cruiser board!

Take A Skate is a event series created by ‘Natural Freedom,’ dedicated to fostering a vibrant skate community for women. Over the past year, we have hosted eight unforgettable TAKE A SKATE events, each filled with its own unique magic thanks to our amazing guests. What began as a small gathering has blossomed into a close-knit community of passionate skaters of ALL levels, both familiar faces and new friends.

Our partnership with Landyachtz allows us to offer you the Tugboat cruiser board, one of their most popular models renowned for its ease of riding and versatility. 

These Take A Skate Tugboats are made to order right in Vancouver at the Landyachts headquarters, and will be available for pick up at our Take a Skate event on June 14th. 

This collaboration is more than just about skateboards; it’s about strengthening our community and providing our members with top-quality gear to enhance their skating experience. We are incredibly proud to partner with Landyachtz and look forward to seeing our Take A Skate community riding these unique boards!!!

 On June 14th, we kicked off our first TAKE A SKATE meet up of 2024, and it was an extraordinary event for many reasons. Most notably, it celebrated the launch of our very own skateboard in collaboration with @landyachtz!

Despite the rain, 40 enthusiastic participants showed up and kept the energy high, making the event truly special. The weather turned out to be on our side, creating a perfect backdrop for our skateboarding community to come together.

A big thank you to @myhumanessentials for providing everyone with eco-friendly deodorants, and to our drink sponsors @tofinobrewco, @drinkocaso, and @nonny.beer for keeping us refreshed.

It was a joy to share this space with all of you, and we appreciate your dedication and spirit. Stay tuned for more exciting events with Natural Freedom!

Reliving the joy of our TAKE A SKATE series is truly an emotional journey. Throughout the year, we hosted 8 unforgettable TAKE A SKATE events, each bringing its own unique magic based on our guests. What started as a small gathering quickly blossomed into a tight-knit community of passionate skaters, both familiar faces and new friends brought together by the power of Instagram and word of mouth.

We are endlessly grateful to everyone who bravely stepped out of their comfort zones to join us, embracing the thrill of trying something new or rediscovering their love for skateboarding.
