NEW Event Alert!! GO BIRDING - A Weekend of Birdwatching in Tofino!

Join us and @thespecialbirdservice, supported by NOCS, for an exciting weekend of birding in beautiful Tofino during migration season. Whether you're an avid birder or just curious to learn more, this is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and explore the diverse birdlife of the outer coast. Come rain or shine and discover the thrill of spotting unique species in one of the best birding locations in BC.

WEEKEND DETAILS: 

EVENT 1: SOLD OUT 

• Saturday, September 28th - Boat Birding Adventure powered by NOCS --  Clayoquot Marine & Tofino Ocean Adventures 
• Time: 10 AM - 1 PM
• Cost: $45 (includes a pair of NOCS binoculars)

Join us for a special birdwatching boat tour led by Special Bird Service. Scan the water for Common Murres, search the rocky shorelines for Surfbirds and Black Turnstones, and spot Heermann’s Gulls visiting from Baja California. This is a fantastic chance to see seabirds in action while enjoying the stunning coastal views.

EVENT 2:

• Sunday, September 29th - Coffee, Beach & Forest Bird Walk Powered by Tofino Coffee Cafe 
• Time: 10 AM - 12 PM
• Cost: Free

Start your Sunday with a peaceful, guided bird walk along Tofino’s beaches and through the coastal forests. Bring a mug and sip coffee from @tofinocoffee while spotting Shorebirds, Savannah Sparrows and listening for Pacific Wrens. A perfect way to enjoy nature and connect with fellow bird lovers.

SBS is a syndicate of nature-centred education & recreation initiatives bringing together the global majority & 2SLGBTQ+ communities of the Salish Coast, through birdwatching. Their purpose is to advocate for community-based mental health support through nature therapy, hold space for inter-generational knowledge transfers to take place and build stronger, more resilient communities in the process.
